Then again, this is a turn in the wrong way as i really dont trust bitfinex
All the more reason for EOS holders to hold in your private wallet, instead of leaving on an exchange. When left on the exchange, it allows the exchange to use them as they see fit.

I think it's one thing to have general discussions in regards to airdrops that are related to EOS. For example, explaining to someone what an airdop is, and how they work, and why they are happening. But coming into this channel and asking about the specifics of a particular airdrop....this is not the place for that. Many of these airdrops have their own telegram channels.
I disagree. This place should be more welcoming and open. I haven't seen the pinned message but I'm guessing it does not have links to the current Airdrop projects. So if Airdrop talk is forbidden then sign posting should be a necessity. I just want eos to grow and be all inclusive for all...just like u ✌

im curious if anyone can help me here, i have been away since mainnet launch today i have been trying to vote using greymass or scatter, my tokens were registered months ago in mew. now when typinmg my address in eos authority it says i am entitled to my eos but that my registration atempt was unsuccessful. i got my eth private keys using bip39 but when i use scatter to generate new keys it doesnt change from the eth keys. when i try eoskey.io it gives me a new eos key if i delete ox from the beginning of the private key but then its not connectoed to my eos account name so it doesnt work, can anyone tell me whats going on?

Ya well if they made wallet for dummies I wouldn't have 12000 EoS on binance, i would have registered and voted. U wanna make a decentralized currency that 90percent of the people cant safely figure out.....

Don't get me wrong. 100% with you on wanting EOS to grow. At the same time, it's not the responsibility of the operators of this telegram channel to make sure that participants are up to speed on the airdrops. Especially considering they have no involvment with these 3rd parties conducting these airdrops.

I get your POV. Essentially there is risk involved with 3rd parties and EOS Admin do not want to condone every 3rd party Airdrop. Perhaps they should stipulate but veer clear of censoring.

I'm not saying to withhold info or even be hush hush about it, and I especially don't think the admins are doing any sort of censorship here. At the very least, they are being pretty tolerant. Typically, mentioning any airdrop in this channel very quickly gets the topic of conversation off the rails. I don't see anything wrong with informing an individual that it would be recommended to visit the appropriate channel if they are wanting to talk about a particular airdrop.

Well...again I don't think anybody here is trying to tell you to NOT do anything or attempting to censor what you are saying. More along the lines of recommending better places to have those discussions that will ultimately be more beneficial to everyone around. If I try to buy a lawn mower at a florist, they may direct me to go somewhere else to do so. Even though an argument can be had that both involve the lawn.

At the moment there's not a lot you can do with the EOS, except for staking and unstaking for voting. Staking means you basically lock them up for a period and they can be used for voting on which BPs will be in the top 21.

This was the case with everybody. 10 EOS were left unstaked and the remainder were authomatically staked for voting puproses. You can unstake them using a wallet or voting portal.

Here's your message: Tyler: "hey guys i am having a problem, i registered my eos a few months ago, i am trying to vote now because i havent been home since main net launch. my problem is now eos authority says my registration didnt work. so i got my ethprivate keys off ledger using bip 39 (i really didnt want to do this) and tried to generate a new eos key pair on scatter. when switching to eos key they remain the same eth key. so i tried on eoskey.io it says my eth key wa invalid until i deleted the ox off the front then it gives me an eos key pair but when entering into greymass its not connected with my account name, can anyone help?"
@Hoolihan I suggested to @syed_jafri that they put a notification or something in the tool telling users not to prefix with "0x". What account name are you entering? The same one which eosauthority states? You can use scatter if you like, but you still need to remove the prefix.

I wonder if it will be better to have a vote weight divided by 30 and that way u must vote for 30 BPs or if u decide to vote for just 1 u would only be voting 1/30 of the entire amount of a wallet

I truly believe Article XV - Termination, of the proposed EOS constitution needs a major overhaul. I have read Dan’s article, and understand his intent. However, as stated now, the policy is way too draconian. It plainly states that after three years, with no transaction activity, your account may be closed, and assets liquidated. So this precludes leasing/renting as a way out, for example. I just can’t support this!
I agree, maybe there should be a transfer execution, assets transfer to your desired charity/person etc. after 3 or more years of no activity

Please help :). Eos Token I registered on MyEtherwallet before May 21. It was confirmed that the EOS Token has been successfully claimed and the Ethereum address has been successfully registered. Questions: 1. When and how can I transfer tokens from MEW to EOS wallet? 2. How will I be able to clog the tokens from EOS Airdrop? 3. In which wallet will I be able to switch EOS tokens, in which way and which EOS wallet you recommend? 4. How can I transfer registered and claimed EOS tokens from MEW to this new EOS wallet? 5. Since I have a langer nano with whether I can transfer the tokens from the MEW to the ladger nano s?
1 You will never have to move your etc-20 to eos blockchain because that would be impossible. Just access your tokens with eos keys on greymass wallet or scatter. 2 airdrops will be automatic processes and will show up on eos network once you will get them and once wallets will support eos native tokens. 3 greymass or scatter 4 same as 1 5 nano doesn’t support eos token yet, you will have to wait for implementation. Once will support you will be able to send there your eos tokens from eos wallet and not erc20. Erc-20 tokens are in a contract freezed forever

When you registered you should have saved an eos key pair to access your eos tokens on the live mainnet. Did you get one?

When you registered your ethereum wallet you got an eos key pair. Public and private keys. Just enter in your jaxx wallet address into https://eosauthority.com/ and report back here

Or is the key pair the eth and eos private keys?
keypair means a private key with a matching public key. you started with one eth keypair. you were supposed to generate a new eos keypair and then use the public key from that to register your eth address that's holding your eos erc20 tokens.

Yea I know it’s so hard to vote takes 90 seconds will waste 90 seconds from your 3 years life those 90 seconds you can use to do things which you can’t in 3 years of life what a looser
It's not a matter of time, it's a matter of security still yet to define. Calling people not participate a loser plain retard. Democratic system allow people to choose what they want to do. Duh.

Since John mcafee cannot promote anymore icos. He will get a good portion of airdrops from these eos erc20 tokens. And he will promote them. Totally Legal. I think even if sec says temporarily that eos is a security, the airdrops from eos altcoins cannot be securities. Go mcafee!

EON is tied to an exchange Exscudo and an app Channels. I just noticed that I had a notification that one app was currently using battery and it was Channels. I blindly allowed permissions because I kept relating it to EOS but it was asking for Camera, microphone, contacts, storage and location and although wasnt opened in even a background app, it had been running and using 27 MB of memory in the last couple hours. What. The. Eff. The EON shadiness behind their airdrop, designed to incite fomo and their marketing material shilling hype, now have just became a lot more interesting! Who is behind EON? They only have a bot in the telegram so they are worthless but this is something the whole community needs to be aware of! Why is EON using aggressive sales tactics to draw in our community and then harvesting data from our phones when the app is supposed to be closed completely? Do we have any detectives in the community?
Daniel Schwarz (liondani): The EON exscudo related token has not to do with airdrop EON to EOS... Actually it seems they squatted the name from the exscudo exhange... (at least I think so)

I have only received one airdrop from MEET.ONE. I have typed in my EOS address to Everipedia page and seen the tokens I will receive but not sure if I will be able to see them on my ether wallet or ethplorer
I think that one you'll see only under EOS wallet once they distribute them; not in ETH.

I'm a fan of C++ as well being a software engineer, but in defense of Ethereum, it does make sense sometimes to create a new language that focuses primarily on one thing, i.e. smart contracts; easier for non-technical folks to potentially program as well.

It's BTC that went down; all other coins are pretty much still coupled with BTC, and for psychological reasons tends to drop another double of that percent that BTC goes down, but isn't the case with EOS, which is a very good sign for EOS.

Which means if we use Grey mass or such wallet we can send /receive like normal except to exchanges which have it still suspended?

True; that is a major factor as well, but the biggest factor is the overall crypto market and markets (including stock exchange) in general, and more immediately the bitthumb hack today.

Whenever BTC goes down, so do the rest, at least in percentage of USD value, and typically even double that for the "alts" due to psychological reasons, but not for EOS thankfully.

What about queueing services?

Like RabbitMQ; is there an analog to that in the EOS/crypto world?

What about queueing services?
Will put it on the wish list :)
A
Andrew03:14:47 - 20 Jun 2018 [UTC]
Perhaps we can have BPs run RabbitMQ service and offer it to EOS developers to use
A
Andrew03:15:00 - 20 Jun 2018 [UTC]
and hyperledger support... jk
A
Andrew03:15:23 - 20 Jun 2018 [UTC]
although perhaps EOS can somehow work with other blockchains like hyperledger via side chains or the like
A
Andrew03:15:54 - 20 Jun 2018 [UTC]
and maybe nosql/redis type support as an alternative to database

EOS being blamed for hacking exchange, who's being blamed Dan? Or all us users, BP's ? Doesn't even make sense
Lol no EOS transfers not even enabled so it’s not EOS code per se but it’s the exchange itself they messed up trading internally thinking people will sell the news

sounds like your rabbiting random tech
A
Andrew03:16:28 - 20 Jun 2018 [UTC]
good one 😉
A
Andrew03:17:48 - 20 Jun 2018 [UTC]
we could have a more competitive advantage by having those additional techs that competing blockchains don't have and to attract current aws/google/azure cloud customers to switch to eos
A
Andrew03:18:05 - 20 Jun 2018 [UTC]
by having more aws type services available in the "EOS cloud"
F
fh03:18:58 - 20 Jun 2018 [UTC]
or have all non-blockchain related functionality run in a normal app environment where devs can cherry pick the tech they want, and connect to EOS only for what makes sense to be stored/running on a blockchain

Not sure I fully grasp the need for a dapp over just using AWS short of having to depend on AWS (not too much to worry since they have multiple availability zones); is it to be more "decentralized" and less prone to censorship?

Andrew03:23:31 - 20 Jun 2018 [UTC]

something like the status ICO totally killed ethereum, I see EOS as a performant block chain for smart contracts .. the whole dapp thing makes no sense to devs
F
fh03:25:33 - 20 Jun 2018 [UTC]
zero advantage for 99% of app dev use cases
F
fh03:25:48 - 20 Jun 2018 [UTC]
and a lot more complication and hassle
A
Andrew03:26:03 - 20 Jun 2018 [UTC]
even blockchain is questionable for that given how slow it gets over time, although sharding does work around some of those issues, and its strongest points regarding immutibility can also work against it since all balances/transactions are permanent and the IRS will be able to see everything unless you're really good at remaining anonymous with Zcash, Monero, etc.

For one, scalability wont be an issue. So we can actually use these applications. Steemit doesn't feel like a blockchain at all. Same graphene base on eos and eon brings the cloud to our blockchain to scale us to 100k tps right away and 1mm in time.

still dont see anything wrong with BPS hosting on AWS. blockchain is not illegal. secure hosting facilities are just PR hype. why not leverage a cloud providers extremely redudndant platform and engineers to then focus all energy on EOS itself
