hmmm.. any BP can go down and the network will still run. its JSON not jason 🙂 any BP can be slower to pull the latest version of the software or fuck up config and thats ok. (fault tolerance) most of the 'wait' when the chain halted was for a software fix that had to be tested and then installed on all nodes. if enouigh nodes came online to reach quorom and bitfinex wasnt online that would have been fine

Depends what contract you use. If you make your own then yeah you can do those things. But there’s also a vanilla contract you can spawn tokens on which you cannot change the code.

the identity in scatter is tied to an active eos account that you imported with your private key ya? and then you connect scatter to eosportal via the button, right? it should pop up a window to let you select the identity and confirm. and then the vote buttons should show up next to each bp

from the system you only get paid eos if you're a bp or if you get funded through the eventual worker proposal system, where community can vote who to pay to implement cool features for the ecosystem. but the community will find ways to reward each other with their own eos.

Good thing with EOS is you can enter your account name into any of the eosexplorers and check if your coins have been unstaked without you doing so. You have 3 days to get assistance before hackers can sell your coins. Great little security measure as a backup.
