Please tell us about staking and how we would get the airdrops when our coins are staked. Somehow I got only half the ADD coins airdrop. That might be because half of my eos is staked in cpu and the other half is staked in ram. Should we unstake them to get the airdrops? Or should we stake them to cpu or ram? Can the new airdrops tell how much eos I have total no matter how many of them are staked?

hey Admin I get the below message in email. EOS has successfully moved to its mainnet platfrom and blocks are been processed independently by our block producers. Even if ETH solves scalability, they have not solved usability. Any dApp built on ETH is dead on arrival because it requires users to pay a transaction fee. No one is going to use a decentralized Facebook of they have to pay $0.50 to like a post.

Eos has compatibility with more programming languages and is better suited for a broad range of developers instead of a specialized set of programmers. The real value is in what is developed. What has ethereum developed besides an ocean of shitcoins that require gas at every station? I wouldn't bank on the upgrades coming out of ethereum.

Hey guys. How stable is EOS after the mainnet? I've been working crazy long hours... I'm wondering when the down spike will level out or go back up

You’re really not very helpful. I have the ability to buy now on kucoin. That’s not the issue. You told me I should sell on kucoin and transfer to another exchange, buy there and create a new wallet I can then send the tokens to. Why can’t I just buy on kucoin and send the eos to the new wallet that I create?

Binance website, Deposit and Withdrawal for EOS will be suspended during the mainnet swap and will open again once we deem the mainnet to be stable.

Why is so much of it required to support an airdrop?

Tokens in an account are stored in RAM (fast storage). RAM usage only increases whenever you add a __new__ token to an account. This is because it needs to store both the name of the token and the amount (a number). When you receive __more__ tokens all that's required is increase the number, e.g. remove an number and put another one there. Normally the account owners use their own RAM to store tokens so it's just a few bytes 10s or 100 bytes per account. But the way I understand it for an airdrop the project owners have to first start storing the amount of customs tokens to be transferred somewhere before sending. So they can e.g. store all of the token balances in their own RAM first and then transfer to all users. Eventually their own RAM usage can be freed up depending on how they go about implementing it. And then they could see the unused RAM again. But until then they first have to have RAM ready to start the whole process.

Thanks, that makes sense. So instead of sending them all out, they need to find a way to have everyone “accept” the airdrop, so it immediately frees up their ram. Otherwise the person doing the airdrop gets screwed by people who hodl

The frozen accounts that you speak of, happened because of a phishing scam that was intercepted and the accounts were frozen to keep funds from leaving the address. The owners of those addresses, verified their ownership via their private keys.

No matter how you look at it all of these chains have centralization one way or another whether implicit or explicitly. I'm still trying to figure out why eos token contract enforces a max supply. Assuming we hit 5% each year AND it is compounded, in 49 years, EOS supply will be over 10X initial supply, which is higher than max set when token was created.

So a friend of mine just found that a substantial amount of EOS was stollen from his main net wallet. Not sure how that happened but it was probably either malware on his system or following bogus ERC20 EOS registration directions that gave him a compromised private key. Either way on the off chance my private key is also compromised I'm anxious to get my own EOS tokens to a new wallet just in case. What are the best instructions to do this?

From a policy perspective, I support giving arbitration the same scope in EOS that it has out in the world of international commerce contracts, no more and no less. And I support having the Token Holders set policy on this topic via referendum. Once they decide on a policy, I will support it. Until a new policy is set via referendum, I have no ethical choice but to support the current powers of arbitrators as very clearly spelled out in the Constitution, which is to handle "All disputes arising out of or in connection with this Constitution" (article IX).

Smart contract selects random account with the following attributes. 1. Named account (not generic name that came with the account) 2. Active and owner keys different (not sure if this is possible to tell) 3. Must have voted for at least 15 bp's since last lottery. 4. Min 10 (or other appropriate number) eos staked to both net and CPU to ensure vote weight as well as discourage spam accounts looking for the prize Lottery could be daily so there are 365 ram fee lottery winners a year. Or even do 80% of RAM fees given by lottery daily, then the rest pools for a grand prize which happens on the anniversary date of the launch. Lottery winnings could be capped at 1,000 eos. If the daily ram fees are higher, the smart contract can select a second winner that day. This incentivises the behaviours we need in the community, creates a buzz and is a positive use for fees... Smart contract lottery could be voted to renew every anniversary date. A community go no go decision... On main net day.

Recent RAM has been the malicious speculation of the bearer, personally feel that this will seriously affect the EOS ecological development, and even destroy EOS. I think this can be done to curb ram being maliciously hyped. Once the supply of RAM is insufficient, we can enlarge it, and the expanded RAM can be distributed to the bearer in the amount of the currency, and the bearer with the EOS as RAM is not able to get the enlarged RAM. So the value of EOS is shown, the EOS is thriving, the RAM is bound to expand, and the amount of RAM that is allocated by the number of holders is equal to that of the EOS holder. The holder can sell the RAM in accordance with the market price, which is to sell to the Dapp developer. The price is a reasonable price set by the market because the person holding the EOS will not hoard ram. You can't get a bonus if you change your RAM.

Guys, is there any other incentive for people to vote? I know the thought that voting helps steer the project and holders benefit from that but as we saw with the votes to start the engine... it took long which shouldn’t have had to be the case. Imho we need multiple things: 1- good and secure tools to vote. 2- incentivize voters with as little as(you get free airdrops as EOS holder only if you vote). I think that way we could see lot more participation from the holders converting them into believers and helpers of this great movement.

If more people buy RAM it's price increases (supply and demand) but it could price out dapp developers who purchase the ram. Another chain can be easily commissioned effectively halfing the price.not all a bed of roses

Don't think so. You need to ram to conduct the airdrop and when its complete, you don't need it anymore.

Thanks, so they'll get their RAM back once people move the tokens. Which, who knows how long that will be at this point. Seems like at some point there will be a solution created where people will need to claim their tokens, which essentially will be paying the RAM cost to redeem

BPs are fundamental. I wouldn't hold your breath. I am genuinely concerned that clients (airdroppers) will not complete Airdrops if the price of RAM gets too high. This is very worry going forward.
