🌖 WHEN MOON? READ THIS FIRST. @EOSProject is NOT a price/trading discussion! SCAMS Warning: Impersonators may try to scam you! @hadrianBTS Hi! Can you answer me on my question please: I have had about 1.1k EOS ERC-20 tokens in my Ethereum wallet and about two month and half created Priv/Pub keys, while registering Ethereum address. Later I've bought 10 EOS more. Now when I use this public key on EOSpark explorer and then click on account designation I can see that the balance is 10 EOS and mortgage 1,101.3435 EOS. What that means? When I use this public key for wallet how much will there be? Are those coins mine - will I be able to use corresponding private key?

Yes, but they are also counting on being a community benefit dApp which will get EOS stake from a general pool created by a worker proposal or BPs or some such. 3 projects voted on by community can get access to that stake for resources.

Per the requirements, all EOS tokens except for 10 will be used for staking. So you're staking/voting with 1,101.3435EOS. You can stop voting and unstake them once mainnet chain is active and that amount will show up under balance.

So quick question. I used Exodus to register my EOS tokens but my tokens were not in my Exodus wallet. I thoguht I needed to register it in order to be able to use the tokens in the future. That being said, I bouht some EOS on Binance on the 4th of June, I know I won't get the air drops and as the main net hasn't launched, Binance is not letting me move these tokens to my Exodus wallet, says they are frozen until they deem the main net is stable. Does this mean Binance will convert these ERC20 tokens to the new EOS token once the main net is live and I can then move them to my Exodus wallet?

Staked does not take them out of circulation from a market cap perspective. Think steem and Steem power. If in power up, I can't trade those tokens, but they also still exist from CMC's point of view.

Less supply on exchanges = less tokens available to be sold. When you have less float and demand stays the same, price increases.

Is is safe to buy them now ?
like MrAudio106 and @akmoriarity said, each exchange is basically a centralized market right now (particular re: EOS). People who held the ERC20 token on an exchange that registered on their behalf were still able to trade it. Which means, trading on those exchanges is basically an IOU for the actual EOS token once the mainnet is fully live and transactions work. Any airdrops or whatever probably won't be rewarded to these tokens and buying on those exchange means that you're trusting that exchange to handle everything right. There's no reason to believe they won't, but some people don't like trusting the centralized exchanges to that degree.

I'm with you Rob. This is why we need to come together as a community and focus on dApp development heavily. More dApps means less float and mass adoption. Game over. We should make an EOS browser / OS too so all dApps are accessible in one place. Kinda like Google chrome but completely decentralized

Hi. I've been busy did anyone else answer this for you?

They are definitley commited but they prefer the community to take the reins. I was on the call with the BPs when Dan joined to answer some questions. He definitely helped them out a lot but when it came to a question that would steer the project to one thing or another, he definitely took the back seat.

I agree about having at least one wallet being "recommended" it would have made things smoother. I never found myself trusting an exchange more than in this situation but moving the tokens out of the exchange and into a wallet seemed very precarious. It was a minefield either way.
💯having people who have already taken a leap of faith by investing money over the course of 1 year to take another unnecessary leap of faith by trusting exchanges to hold our private keys or risk entering private keys in unnofficial portals was disappointing...

Jon, [11.06.18 12:56] So quick question.

@apcuddling that makes sense, if block one wants to remain neutral. As a dev working on the their stack I hope they do it's a nice change of pace. The only point i would have changed was the wallet. I can vote and I can do it safely via the source method/git, but I don't think every user has that luxury.

I believe the rushed the launch and should have provided better user friendly voting options from the start. The voting is the heart of DPOS.
I think that's a consequence of being decentralized and hands-off re: the actual mainnet. blockone wants to be seen as a neutral developer to a degree, but that's a little hard to do considering the concentration of tokens, but that would be even more so if they ran everything - there are a lot of community projects, just like with bitcoin or ethereum, but this is the bleeding edge. as an early adopter you accept certain risks and clunky UI. I certainly agree that there has been a "fog of war" for those not directly invovled in the network boot up, but I expect that to change now

Jon, [11.06.18 12:56] So quick question.
Yes. Binance is supporting the swap. They are frozen at the moment for the launch though. Once everything is stable you'll be able to withdraw or deposit as normal.

Is eos premined
mining is irrelevant in a proof-of-stake system, to a certain extent the answear to your question is "yes" as are all POS blockchains. However, EOS will also have a ~5% annual inflation (though, that number could change if people vote to change it)

It could always have been a prototype design for others to adapt just like makes prototype PCs for various vendors as a testnet. There is always excuses to make but why we as a BP community are defending B1s wrong decisions and choices?
Because we don't know if they are wrong decisions. The law can often seem very nonsensical, we all know block.one have been working closely with lawyers throughout this project. I doubt they would purposefully hinder network adoption without good cause.

Paul since there is no mining, the BPs are paid with a portion of the inflation, so for there to be resources on the EOS network there will need to be inflation
Of course. Im not saying that we should have inflation. 1% to the BPS guranteed. But not the other 4% forever. After the first couple years we should look at the state of the network and determine if we still require such a high inflation rate

Im down for that first year for that inflation. Maybe two, to jumpstart the blockchain
Bitcoin is centralized to 17 mining pools ...🤔 Think about the fees the 17 mining pool operators get paid yearly. Not to mention 4 out of the 17 have 61% of the Hashing power. How many people get scammed with mining schemes nowadays? A LOT! I’m all good for the up to 5% fee paid and divided equally to 21 BP’s. This means a robust, secure, and stable network for EOS.

Current voting options: 1. learn how to use Linux and Cleos 2. Use third party software that might steal your keys 3. Don't vote
Examples of third party 'wallet' software for ethereum are myetherwallet, metamask, exodus, jaxx. There are some good options for eos wallets. And from what I've seen they're all open source. Some are from teams with powerful reputations, and a history of developing for dpos. Voting is easy.

block one has 100 mill coins, they could step in and vote, if they divide their coins equallty between the top 30 producers then they will preserve the top as it is and not really influence anything

hard to speculate at this point, but without the votes in the network is effectively ran by the group of BPs that booted the system. In theory they could change the criteria if they had to, but that would raise a lot of concenrs. I've heard that it could take up to 1 month.

IMO it's more honest than 2 douches making a "million dollar bet" that EOS goes to 1,000$ for publicity.
Don’t vote for us because I have a personal bet. Vote for us because we invested nearly $500k in dedicated infrastructure and DDoS protection to ensure the network stays online and can continue to scale. https://youtu.be/SFNf-1_PJN8

hadrian: hadrian: Put your ethereum address in at eosauthority.com. If it says you have an eos public key and account name then you can access your eos account and tokens using the fallback method to generate your eos private key from your ethereum private key. You could use, for example, @scatter or eoskey.io . Your ethereum private key is important so do this securely (at least go offline, possibly move all your other tokens first)

I made a simple enough guide for voting How vote for EOS Block Producers: Go to https://github.com/greymass/eos-voter Scroll down until you see this "Get eos-voter Releases Current 0.1.4 release downloads: Windows Installer macOS Package Linux (deb) Linux (snap)" Download the appropriate software for your computer. Open the program and it will ask for the Wallet API URL Input - https://eos.greymass.com It should then open the program It will then ask you for your EOS Account Name and Private Key that you should have got when registering your old Ether account. If you input your Ethereum PUBLIC KEY into this website you can check your Account Name https://eosauthority.com/ Input your Account Name and Private Key and the vote option should come up and its obvious what to do from there
