I'm not clearly understand .but I heard there is a flaw in the voting which could lead to potential issues. Also main holders of votes in China something just 1person holding at least 4%....so....also some issue that it can't fork too...and to move on you need many approvals or those who have main power. I might be wrong in details. I was explained by someone and I already forgot ...too long and complex hahaha...but I guess they have this in their white paper too? The ether was sent from Bittrex to an ethereum smart contract. There's nothing further that can be done (such as registering, claiming or obtaining native eos tokens in June) without the ethereum private key which controls the address from which the ether was sent. Bittrex have that key, so only they can help. With the key they could solve the problem, but they may not find it feasible in terms of cost or security relating to their inner workings.

MEW is not suitable for controlling native eos tokens, because it deals with ethereum, not eos. You ask "where we will have the eos token?". It's not really a question of where the eos token is, but through which interface you will use your private key to interact with the blockchain. Light is correct, we cannot yet use the eosio software for it's intended purpose, because it's not launched yet and is on testnet, which is not properly persistent. Although people have built useful tools already, it's necessary for people to wait until June to start running dapps and using them in a real world, persistent manner. Wait two or three more weeks and then see if anyone wants to have the same argument.

I can't guarantee what will happen in the future, and particularly not when it's dependent upon other's actions. (I don't know that you won't give your key to a scammer or have malware problems for example). But if you've correctly registered your ethereum address which will hold your eos erc-20 tokens when they are frozen, and you have secured the eos private key which pairs with the eos public key which you registered, you've done what you need to do. I wish I could give a more concise answer!😳

I don't know man... Dan larimer and his ircle of influence has made very meaningful progress on past projects and that carries over to eos. So that's something. Not to mention the fact that the developers channel is the most active developers channel I've ever been in before. That's progress and that's definitely something. The test nets, bug fixes, Dawn releases, partnerships, announcements, and the graphene is all worth exactly what the market decides. That's a lot more than nothing. Roll the dice if you want on projects like Tron or Bitconnect. This is eos. This is the future.

There is so much sketchy stuff going on in crypto the last 4 years, but I think Dan Larimer’s (and Vitalik’s) intentions are pure. I think EOS block producers need to do *everything they can* to live up to the intentions of Dan, and adamantly and forcefully reject the corrupt culture surrounding crypto. That includes paying voters in *any* way, unregistered AirDrop securities, impure voting motivations, sloshing money around from nebulous company to company, owning a stake in multiple block producers, and having your hands in the kitty at multiple levels of the crypto hierarchy. We don’t need the SEC sticking its nose into EOS at the BP level. That would be a public relations nightmare. I could be wrong, but that’s my thoughts. www.EOStheWorld.io

i wish they made paying for votes far more meaningless by blockchain giving incentives directly for people to vote (& also thus vest their coins) - then instead of bribe/no-bribe income ratio scenario being bribe/0 = infinite it would be bribe/interest and finite. in fact w/o interest for vesting, you're punished through inflation for securing the platform with your votes.

i wish they made birbing for votes far more meaningless by blockchain giving incentives directly for people to vote (& also thus vest their coins) - then instead of bribe/no-bribe income ratio scenario being bribe/0 = infinite it would be bribe/interest and finite. in fact w/o interest for vesting, you're punished through inflation for securing the platform with your votes. it's far closer to what decred does (what ark/lisk do are very different and bad) - this mechanism would not reward voting for active block producers like ark/lisk do, but simply for having more coins/people with stake to secure the network. if you make total inflation to block producers = total inflation to voters (split among participants), then bribing for votes would not only be too expensive for BPs, it would also dilute them compared to total supply - double protection.

Incentivising people to vote can lead to improper incentives and uninformed/bad voting. A lower 'turnout' of decent quality voting would usually be preferable. It's also necessary to consider that (unless I'm wrong?) you can still vote with tokens which you're leasing.

I suppose it would be hard to cover up if you're bribing people who vote for you. It would be easy for someone to blow the whistle. The community must decide what they think of, and how they'll deal with bribery of voters.

you can never be sure, but you can make it economically more difficult to do. it costs a lot more to bribe paid workers than unpaid, especially if they make more than you b/c you gave so much away.

can still punish it if found out, but if you're bribing you could keep it secret and limited to few large holders so whistle blowing alone isn't enough. in the end, big holders do have incentives not to risk their vested stake on some bribing BP bc if BP is doing that and turns malicious, the value of their stake might drop with platform value. but you can game that with stuff like leverage so good to have multiprong defense

Hey 👋 just went to a meetup presentation by Thomas Cox in Toronto. He mentioned restricting random variables in order to prevent nondeterministic code from running on the VM. The Halting Problem states we are unable to determine if a program will halt (i.e. be deterministic) from within the same system. It must be run to be determined. I am sure these aren’t new ideas do you all, just I wondered what steps you have taken to account for this limitation in identifying deterministic vs non-deterministic code?

yeah, I don't think it's possible. slashing conditions = centralization of supply & control = bonds are a barrier to entry for producers = have to weight consensus on blocks by wealth. we already have slashing of block reward if you don't do your job and have slashing of infinite income in future if you are fired. that's way more than some finite slashing

Yes. Eos inherently has a high degree of flexibility to try to mitigate some problems which are caused by automation. Also the ability to implement tools (e.g. arbitration) which cannot yet be automated. It's tough and can get 'messy' and imperfect. But that's reality, and I think the overall approach with EOS is to optimise by finding the sweet spot the real world. Thankfully some of eos' sweet spots seem to be better than options which already exist!

Nice. I share your concerns. It's neat how it could automatically alter the rotation too. Do you think a form of arbitration could help in ascertaining what's happened in a lot of situations, and thereby make it less risky for people who want to participate honestly? Or is it too hard to determine what's happened if someone's fabricated a situation and pretends to be innocent? I'm just asking is it feasible that arbitration could be useful in determining the quality of block producer behavior...

I don't understand your problem because you've not said what was wrong when you tried to register. You said you confirmed the transaction on your ledger. What then? Have you checked to see if you're address is registered? You didn't say that before. You need to enable contract data in your ledger's ethereum app settings (on the ledger itself using the hardware keys). Then it'll work.
