I use Myetherwallet and it is easier than it seems. Go to EOS dot io Click on Get EOS Check off all the boxes and click continue Scroll down to the Participant Instructions section Click on the Register tab Select the method you are using (Metamask, Myetherwallet or Ethereum wallet) I use Myetherwallet 1. Click on the Generate EOS Keys button 2. Store these keys somewhere safe. These are your keys to your new EOS Blockchain tokens come June 1 3. Go to Myetherwallet dot com 4. Click on the contracts tab 5. Select EOS Contribution contract (0xd0a6E6C54DbC68Db5db3A091B171A77407Ff7ccf) 6. Click access 7. It's not about them being safe or not. For all intents and purposes, Binance is a great company and doing well for their users. It's just the principle that if you don't own your private keys, you don't own the tokens.

For some reason my metamask wallet transferred my EOS tokens to 0x957cd4ff9b3894fc78b5134a8dc72b032ffbc464 via the EOS token contract at 0x86Fa049857E0209aa7D9e616F7eb3b3B78ECfdb0 which matches the token contract listed under EOS token at etherscan I simple added a new token via metamask UI using this contract address in the metamask form, prior to transferring the tokens from binance and within 30 s they were moved out via the same contract address,see tx below: https://etherscan.io/tx/0xf7341c1a85b574ebfa706298a6c014fc0c731a656be393678851a9e3685b47d0 I am running metamask on firefox on macosx , I do not have any geth rpc nodes installed or running my ports look like this. you cant cheat.. you only register your wallet, not your tokens... if your tokens are not in the wallet, they dont get swapped over

You register your address so that when the mainnet is launched, your EOS tokens will be swapped over to the mainnet. The 'Get EOS' is the direct token distribution where you can contribute ETH and then get EOS in return.

The reason you got that error when using your trezor, when you've not seen it before, is because you're interacting with a contact, rather than making a simple transaction. I suspect previously you've only done simple sends. When you call a smart contract function from a trezor via myetherwallet you need to enable browser pop-ups. You don't need to freak out, and nothing dangerous is going on. It's a known harmless 'bug' with trezor. @HoneyBooBoosMom is correct with his diagnosis

There are a few things making it more secure. Think of phishing attacks (particularly people clicking in links to a website looking like mew). Think of the recent DNS server attack (extension can protect you from this). Think of typing in the url and making a typo. And also the way an average person would access the wallet would be more secure with an extension.

Thank you for getting back to me earlier. (can't find your message to reply to that, Seach in Telegram doesn't seem to work so well for me). Could just make a new account, register it, sell ones EOS to Eth, send that Eth to an exchange, send that Eth to new account, and contrubute that Eth to one of the last contribution days. Or some longwinded process like that. That's long, has risk, and would probably lose some EOS in the process. I definately wouldn't recommend it.

If it's possible to determine the ethereum address's public key (there must've been an outgoing transaction to derive this) then the key can be converted to an eos public key such that the ethereum private key can be used to produce the valid eos private key. Does that make sense?😳

I was told in here that if I leave my registered EOS tokens on exodus wallet I would receive airdrops to address but not be able to see them, which is fine with me.
