Yes and that will continue to happen. EOS will always be in the shadow of ETH. More people know ETH coding, More trust and very active community for one of the eldest cryptos. EOS might release something never done but ETH will always be there to take the idea and implement it into their blockchain.

Okay I know this will sound crazy. But if that's true, then wouldn't the safest thing be to NOT register? After all, it's very easy to double check that your ETH private key works, or it might be a wallet you've had for a while. Etc. I'm not trying to FUD of course - I think everything will go smoothly but as an individual people can always make mistakes.

Like I trust that the github works properly... but what if the EOS private key just doesn't unlock the account? Normally you can make an account and then test it via a small transaction... registration is placing a lot of trust that a) the registration process worked and b) that the EOS key pair you have is correct.

I agree... but again, if it's true you can recover your account if you didn't register with your ETH private key, why *not* use, given you can use your private ETH key (thus ensuring it works) while you cannot check your generated EOS key. I'm not saying people should do that I'm just wondering what the argument is against doing that?

no red flag on this article. For tron, yes, you need to move it to exchanges that support the migration since they don't support hardware or paper wallet but for EOS, it's not necessary. In fact, it's advisory to move youse eos from exchange to your own wallet and register it it yourself - so you get all the airdrops.

no, really you only need to use those site for generating your new keys.. if you download exodus wallet, all you have to do is click a button, and it will do all that for you, and you will be better off than if you left it on an exchange

Both result in you owning the ERC20 token everyone is referring to as EOS right now. If you (or the exchange you buy it on) register it, then it will be equally distributed on the EOS main net chain launching in June. Buying from the ICO will require you to claim and register the EOS token. Buying from one of the supporting exchanges (like Binance, Bitfinex, Kraken, and almost a dozen others) will register the token for you in June.

You can try to make money by trading RAM and not by staking eos directly. You can buy account names and put them on auction or you can make some money from the secondary market but mostly you will probably get some money by holding eos because it’s value should go up as more dapps will be build and more people will use them.

There's no updating to be done. It's your ethereum address which is registered, not the tokens. All that matters for the transition to native eos is how many eos tokens you have in your registered address at the beginning of June when the tokens will be frozen. Tokens can come and go from your registered address in the meantime without any effect.

You can keep the erc-20 tokens in a ledger if you've registered the ledger's ethereum address. This will keep them safe until June. Then you'll need your eos private key for the eos blockchain.

Dear admin, I used airgap computer to generate eos public and private key. Then wrote the public key on a paper, and entered it in using a different computer. I verified that I successfully registered (for my eth address, it shows the eos public key). Just being paranoid now thinking if it is possible that I would misinterpret a letter and make a mistake typing the wrong public key. Or the numbers and letters in the eos public key has a unique pattern that if I changed a certain character, I would NOT be able to register it on eos contract?

its appears so. comments on their fb post also by them say you dont have to do this if you have them registered. Like someone posted above maybe its like a waiver so noone blames them later if they didnt register correctly. I read somewhere that there are still LOADS of unregistered accounts/tokens...
