This is also not true... although I don’t agree with signing up for airdrops, most airdrops provide little to no value and usually aren’t worth the risk of claiming by exposing your private keys.

Yes. Click on one and it should have the requirements. If it doesn't, go to the website of the group conducting the airdrop. Or try to find their telegram channel and ask in there.

Finally got to the opening of Exodus wallet, transferring tokens from Binance was easy. Then two boxes pop up to register them and was easy. Looked at putting them in my Meta or Jaxx wallets, but after seeing at least 36 steps to register with metamask, decided to just go the easy way with Exodus!

I'm quite new to EOS and currently have my tokens on binance. I have read the email. So I plan on sending the EOS to my MEW, keys controlled by ledger nano s. I understand the process of registering the tokens with the EOS smart contract, as outlined on the page. What I'm unsure of is.... what wallet will the new EOS tokens need to be stored in? Or will they still be able to be stored on MEW/ERC20 wallet? Secondly, Im reading about an EOS private key. Not sure what is being referred to here. IS this just my MEW private key? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Cheers people

It's even more important than usual to register your ethereum address if you're using a ledger. During the procedure you'll generate an eos key pair (this is where you'll get you're eos private key). To understand registration go to eos.io and click "get eos" and read the registration bit.

From what I can understand, you basically need to buy your tokens (if you didn't get them from the ICO) on an exchange. Once you have them, you can send them to your Ethereum wallet address. They will show up as EOS tokens. You should then register your Ethereum wallet address to EOS, which will pair your wallet to a new to-be-made EOS private/public key set. At this point, you should get your public/private key from the pairing. (DO NOT LOSE THESE KEYS) Once you have that, you can keep sending EOS tokens to your paired Ethereum address until launch. On June 1st, they will freeze the trading and they will generate a snapshot of the registered EOS wallet addresses and then generate the genesis block. This block will be made public and will be usable for other companies that want to launch an ICOs on the EOS main net. They basically implement the snapshot as their starting point/template. This results in airdrops. The airdrops are basically instant tokens from the new ICO! Trading resumes I believe on June 2nd, but if you had tokens in an exchange, instead of on the Ethereum wallet, some exchanges may honor your tokens and transfer them for par, to a EOS wallet on their platform. Some may not. Those Ethereum tokens will then - and I'm not sure about this - be kind of worthless. You probably won't get anything for them as value, since you'll have the equivalent EOS in your EOS wallet. Wallet support should launch very shortly thereafter.

The idea is, if you register/pair your own personal Ethereum wallet with your EOS tokens, YOUR address will be eligible for more chance at airdrops later. That means if a ICO on EOS goes nuts and your have automatic tokens in it, you could trade them. Instead of buying them.

If those companies make tangible products that revolutionize the world, and you have shares because you joined their Telegram and provided your e-mail address, then wow. You know? Added bonus.

Your Ethereum address needs to be paired to a EOS address. They have to remain there until after genesis block creation (launch) and then you get airdrops when someone uses the base-set public block chain snapshot.

@WalterWhite10 is right, there will be many many variances to get airdrops after launch. This is just the first possible method, built-in to the concept. People could easily ask for EOS wallet addresses and personal information, or filling surveys, or posting to social media, etc... many ways you could qualify down the line for airdrops.

So, just out of curiosity, I checked my current Ethereum address that's associated to "Deposit" on Binance, for my EOS tokens and it is NOT paired/registered. So while I am sure Binance will honor the tokens AFTER EOS is launched, I'm not sure those tokens will be "honored" as being in the genesis block. Anyone know a 100% for sure answer to this?

Most important thing is not to panic dump after the genesis snapshot. A dump will probably happen. But it will probably be exageratted and come back soon. Freaking out and selling during a high volume dump can be a bad idea if the price quickly recovers above your sell price.

No problem. Its a normal process in crypto. Thats how you can pump your PF. Hodling is the best if you believe in a project. But catching a pre news pump works on most coin. Just dont get comfy in the pump. I usually sell 1 day before on legit coin and 2 days before on shitcoins

Nope. The fee model is totally different. Instead of paying transaction fees you just have to own or lease EOS. So app users don't need to pay fees. And app devs don't pay fees for every single transaction, they just own EOS or lease EOS for their apps to cover their usage of platform resources.

So it's a totally new model. App devs can create their own business models. They can give some apps to users at no cost. Some apps could have a subscription cost or usage cost. Up to them how to monetize it. It will be more flexible than hosting apps on ETH because on ETH some apps will never be viable because they have too many individual transactions a day.

No, that's not the case. The freezing of the distribution tokens is related to the transition from the erc-20 token to native eos token. Once the erc-20s are frozen (non-transferable) there will be a snapshot which can be used to create a genesis block for any eosio based blockchain which wants to honor it. As @kev_eosgo says, this can be used as an airdrop target. There's no reason to think though that everything built will airdrop in the way you suggest.

Every time bitcoin forks you get free extra value. I can totally imagine maintaining a holding in tradeable erc-20 EOS tokens that continue as a speculative vehicle that separately tracks the success of the EOSIO project. It's not like we won't be able to buy new mainnet tokens if/when mainnet(s) emerge. Freezing makes little sense since it makes everything worthless for a period of time with no assurance any new native tokens will be assigned or retain anything like the former valuation.

A little confused. My EOS coins purchased on Binance would have to be moved to MetaMask or MEW, then I must use that wallets address to register on the EOS.io website in order to get a 1:1 airdrop after June 1st?
