Anyone knows how to verify if my EOS private key maps to my EOS public key ? Just want to double confirm that I have already backed up the right ones. For MEW, it is so simple that just go to MEW website and access the wallet, but for EOS, I am not sure. Thanks

If you want to check whether your private key maps correctly to your EOS public key, use tool provided from EOSIO official repositories: https://github.com/EOSIO/genesis/tree/master/tools/keys Just follow the guides, the steps are simple. If you are Linux users, this whole process will take less than two minutes: - Download the source code - Install npm - Install Electron - Launch electron to run that tool (Before doing this, make sure you are offline for extra safety) Then you can just enter your public and private key, it will verify the if it's a valid pair of keys. Don't use any tools that is provided by any other than Block One.

It is not exactly a competition. There are things everipaedia can do eg it cannot be centrally controlled and cannot be blocked out of a country in the manner that Wikipedia has been in some countries. It also has a slightly different display format and is more engaging for the younger generation.

If you're feeling daring, you could send your eos coins to another eth address (you paper wallet), and then you associate that eth address with a public eos address that you've generated offline (via the instructions on eos.io contract "register" function) and then after a day or so you check the eos authority website to confirm its registered. Sorry, not an intuitive process but it could be worse...

Try Exodus it's super easy. All you have to do is download the Exodus wallet app, set it up with a password and write down the 12 word key. Then deposit a little ETH in there for transfer fees. Then you can withdraw your EOS and deposit it into your EOS address inside your Exodus wallet. Once the EOS is in there, a green button appears that says Register on it. Click it and you're all set.

If you’ve registered your address already then you don’t need to register again. Check on the exchange you’ll be using to see if they still allow withdrawals as some exchanges have disabled withdrawals now. I think Binance still allows you to withdraw but double check before buying more tokens

My understanding is there will be a number of nets launched and EOS will throw their weight behind one (as the 'true' main net) at some point soon...I expect this will be one of the main sources of FUD

Wanna have a bet if any chain gets 15% if not a big exchange or whale votes ;-)? I think many block producers do a great job pushing and marketing eos, but on the governance side they have not done a good job. At least I am not aware of one who did.

If you did registration to put your wallet in chain, you shouldnt send your coins to binance and leave them in peace until you start using eos chain with shiny new wallet(s)

You should take the time to get them off the exchange and register them on mainnet. While they are on binance you wont be able to use them to vote for a Block Producer!

Depending on how smoothly Binance does the swap for everyone, it could be awhile until you can actually take your tokens off Binance. They have a great track-record though it might be ok to leave them on there so they can facilitate the swap for you.

You can leaving eos tokens unclaimed in the distribution contact. The snapshot attributes them to the ethereum address which contributed. It doesn't involved the fallback if the ethereum address is registered. The only downside could be (and I don't know if it's the case) if there are airdrops which require the tokens to be claimed.

there is missunderstanding about the release date, that counter does not show main net launch day, its basicaly show the date eos software release date, depends on latest announce from eos team, can be delayed or not but its definetly not release date of main net. after software v1.0 release all candidates adopt the software and try to build network so that also took some time. mainnet after software release but release time is not certain.

PLS HELP! I have a properly registered MEW, but just for sure I transferred all my EOS to Binance. I think its an insurance to have EOS on this big exchange, because something is go wrong they will handle it. BUT. This way there is no AIRDROPS. If I understand well there will be a snapshot of MEW jun 2. So I cant have my EOS on Binance and after mainnet launch transfer my EOS to MEW to have the airdrops. Yes, you can register using MEW or if you want an easier method then use the Exodus wallet. You’ll need a little ETH for to process the registration.
